A sequel Bayonetta 2 was announced in September 2012 and it was first released on 20th September 2014. Like Bayonetta 1 it also belongs to the genres of action, hack, and slash. Unlike Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 2 is both multiplayer and single-player, whereas Bayonetta 1 is only a single player. The writers for Bayonetta 2 were Hideki Kamiya and Bingo Morihashi. Yusuke Hashimoto was Bayonetta 2 director. Like Bayonetta 1 Platinum games were the developers for Bayonetta 2. Bayonetta 2 was improved significantly by fulfilling the loopholes or issues in Bayonetta 1. Bayonetta 2 received an average aggregate score of 90+ out of 100, which is a very good score.

It also received Destructoid’s Best of 2014 award in best overall game category, Edge award 2014 in the top game of 2014 category, GameTrailers best of 2014 award under best action-adventure and best Wii U exclusive, National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers awards under Original light mix score, franchise and character design, AbleGamers Foundation’s Most accessible games of 2014 award under most accessible games category and finally IGN’s best of 2014 awards under best action game and best action game of peoples choice.
