Joe Keery is an American actor who is most popularly known for his role as ‘Steve Harrington’ in the Netflix original series ‘Stranger Things. He is also a contributing musician for American psychedelic rock and Post Animal.
EARLY LIFE
Joseph David Keery was born on April 24, 1992, in Newburyport, Massachusetts to mother Nina Keery and father David Keery. His zodiac sign is Taurus. His mother is an English Professor and father, and architect. He has 4 sisters- Caroline, Lizzy, Kate, and Emma. He is the second of five children. He studied in River Valley Charter School, a local Montessori elementary and middle school, and did then went to Newburyport High School.
From the time he was a young kid, he was interested in acting so initially he began by participating in a theater in the Open, a performing arts camp at Maudslay State Park. After being insisted on by his sister, he then started performing in High School Dramas. Joe Keery did his graduation from The Theatre School at DePaul University and passed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in 2014.

Initially, he had auditioned for the role of Jonathan but somehow he later sent in a tape for steve’s role and got selected for it. Stranger Thing’s first season was released on July 15 2016 and now it has three seasons. The fourth season will be released possibly in the latter half of 2021. Besides his recurring role in the series, Joe Keery has also starred in many other independent movies like ‘Spree’ and the action-comedy ‘ Free Guy’.
Joe Keery is not only a talented actor but also a successful musician. He plays the guitar for a psych-rock band called Post Animal-based in Chicago. They even released an album in 2015 and the second album in 2018 where Joe Keery can be seen contributing as a vocalist as well as a guitarist. But he is no longer a touring member of the band from 2019.
Nevertheless, Joe Keery released four single albums under the artist name Moniker Djo, first one was ‘Roddy’, then ‘Chateau’ and ‘Twenty Twenty’ all in 2019. Joe Kerry and his girlfriend met on the sets of their movie ‘After Everything’ in 2017 and they eventually fell in love with each other.
