What Makes Toradora so popular?
Toradora can be put into the category of a stereotypical high school furious girl anime. The characters are pretty stereotypical. But even though the characters are highly stereotyped and kind of cliche, making them get onto your nerves at the beginning, if you hang around for some time you will actually end up loving the anime Toradora. In a way, the characters are pretty relatable and that is exactly what draws the attention of viewers and makes them fall in love with the characters. Some characters, although a little annoying, are pretty memorable and unique. Every character in Toradora is very different in their own ways when compared to other anime series with similar themes. This anime series will take you back in time and remind you of your own high school days.
The main character is a short girl with a fierce temper named Taiga. She is about 4 feet 9 inches tall and snaps at anyone at any time. Everyone is scared of her because of her bad temper. She is insecure about her underdeveloped body and every time she gets angry, she just blurts out nothing but the truth, very bluntly. She is cute, which is why many guys have asked her out, but she turns down every single one of them, including Takasu ( with whom she becomes friends soon). Later Takasu helps her get to her crush, Yuusaku who is one of the popular kids from school, and the best friend of Takasu.
Toradora belongs to the romedy ( for those of you who are confused by this term, ‘romance + comedy’) genre. And it is very different from any romantic comedy anime you will ever watch, and as I said, that’s because of the unique characters. The anime starts as a romantic comedy but soon takes a turn towards a very emotional direction. You will get really invested in each character even before you realize it. The characters feel very real and close. Taiga who manages to irk viewers and get on their nerves at the beginning of the anime because of her stereotypical angry girl portrayal of the character soon starts to gain a place in your heart as the story moves forward. The soundtracks, too, are quite memorable and it is pretty much their emotional content that keeps you engaged with them. You just cannot get these tracks out of your head, even long after you are done with the anime. Personally, I do know people who have watched Toradora for a second or even a third time, cause apparently, they could just not get enough of this fun and beautiful anime show. Fans all over the world just cannot wait for news regarding the renewal of this series- Toradora Season 2 to come out.

Toradora Season 2- Info: When is it going to premiere?
Toradora Season 1 premiered on October 2, 2008, and ended on March 26, 2009. Within a span of these 6 months, ‘Toradora!’ covered 25 episodes with each one of them having a duration of some good 24 minutes. As of now, there has not been any news of the renewal of the release of a Toradora Season 2. And frankly speaking there are almost no chances for Toradora Season 2 to be made, given that more than a decade has passed since the first season of this series had been aired. From time to time, since the end of Toradora Season 1, there have often been numerous rumors and speculations regarding the making of Toradora Season 2, but none of them have ever been officially confirmed.
Also, there is the factor of the source material. Toradora! , the anime had been adapted from the light manga series of the same, and season 1 of the anime covered everything from all the 10 published volumes. Now, of course, there is always a chance that Yuyuko Takemiya, the author of the manga series could continue writing the volumes once again, but again practically speaking the manga series concluded more than a decade ago. Don’t you think if new volumes of Toradora were to be written, it would have been done a long time ago?
However there is always a chance that we might get Toradora Season 2- but a fan-made version. But then again, fan-made versions hardly ever live up to our expectations and always end up being far from good when compared to the original anime series.
Toradora is sure one great anime from the romedy genre, which is why even today, after more than a period of 10 years have passed and it does not have any source material yet, we still are keeping our fingers crossed, hoping the production studio of this anime, or maybe Netflix could provide us with a pleasant surprise. After all, Netflix did re-release Toradora on their site. Maybe they could bring Toradora Season 2 making it a Netflix Originals? It will not be the first time Netflix is doing such a great deed, right? Also, there have been various instances where an anime has been taken up for renewal after a decade or even two. We are hoping the same for Toradora Season 2.
