It looks like Baba Yaga or the Boogeyman will be returning in John Wick: Chapter 4.
Created by Basil Iwanyk and Derek Kolstad, the first installment was aired on 24th October 2014. It saw Keanu Reeves taking up the role of the protagonist. After the first movie’s commercial success, three more sequels were made. It is one of the most popular and critically appreciated series for action sequences, screenplay, and acting. This franchise grossed over 587 million on a global basis.
The plot follows the story of a retired hitman named John Wick played by Reeves who lost his wife recently. He gets dragged back again into the assassination world after a group of mobsters steals his puppy and car. The further sequels follow the exploits of John Wick, the fictitious hitman.
According to official sources, the John Wick franchise will be releasing its fourth chapter on 21st May 2021. The third film was aired on 9th May 2019 which was supposed to be the last one of the franchise. Due to the massive success of the film, the decision was made to open up the fourth installment.
However, reports say that filming was put on hold due to the COVID-19 crisis. Once everything gradually resumes back to normalcy, production can be expected to start soon. So until then everyone is gonna have to wait quite a while longer for the next John Wick movie. Lionsgate’s announcement stated that they will be shifting the John Wick 4 release date to May 27, 2022, nearly a full year after its previous release date of May 21, 2021.
In terms of casting, there is no doubt in mind that Keanu Reeves shall return as our favorite John Wick. Although Ian McShane and Laurence Fishburne will reprise their roles as Winston and Bowrey King, is no confirmation on there the rest of the cast.
There isn’t any official trailer for the fourth installment as of now. But we can expect it to drop by early 2021, and hopefully receive further updates soon then.
