Misaki Ayuzawa- Misaki is the student council president of the school, she is a tough and badass teen, which is why she is referred to as the “Demon Prez” by the boys at her school. When she was a child, her father had abandoned her along with her mother and her little sister. This is the reason why she despises men and also the reason behind her tough exterior. Because of their poor financial condition, she works at a cafe called, Maid Latte, and this is where you can see the other side of her- the caring, sweet, and helpful Misaki.
Despite being a bright student, because of their financial restraints, she is compelled to go to a school with the majority of its population being males, and there she struggles and tries her best to stay strong and not let anything dampen her spirits. She is hardworking, selfless, and stands only for what is right. Her considerate and caring nature is only familiar to Takumi Usui who mocks her for this and takes advantage of this situation to get close to her.

Takumi Usui- He is that popular guy from school who everyone is just absolutely fond of. Tall and handsome, he is highly talented and almost perfect. He is a good observer and although he is talented, he does not show interest in anything or anyone as such. But when he runs into Misaki at the Maid Cafe, he falls in love with her.
Misaki keeps dismissing his feeling thinking he is just mocking or teasing her and often behaves rudely with him. She even calls him a “perverted outer space alien”, but he never gives up or gets mad at her, instead he is always ready to protect her from anything. He even gives her tips on how to deal with the mean boys at their school, which surprisingly turns out pretty well for Misaki.
Most importantly, Misaki had kept her job and her private life away from her school life and was highly terrified when Takumi saw her at the Maid cafe, after all, he is the most popular guy from school, but to her shock, he never exposed her secret. He was the only guy who managed to earn Misaki’s respect.
What Makes Kaichou Wa Maid Sama so good?
The story centers around Misaki Ayuzawa who has recently joined a school that used to be an all-boys school and has recently opened its gates for girls. As a result, the guys are pretty infamous for causing trouble for the girls. Misaki being appointed as the President of the Student Council takes it upon herself to bring discipline to the school. Her strict methods make her inherit the title of “Demon President” from the boys, while the girls adore her. Outside school, she works at a cafe called, Maid Latte to help out her single mother financially and she keeps this a secret from her school life. She has a completely different personality while working at the cafe- her sweet, soft, vulnerable side is exposed here. Thus, one day when she runs into the most popular guy from her school, Takumi while still in her maid uniform, her world turns upside down as she realizes he might expose her at school, but unexpected events take a turn starting here. The comedy in this anime is not a laugh-out-loud kind of one, instead, it will leave you in giggles and all smiles. The realism in the characters is strikingly good. The love between these two characters is beautifully portrayed, and in a very subtle manner without showing physical interactions between them. The story is pretty clean and straightforward and the characters are so real that despite knowing this is just an anime, you cannot help but absolutely adore this couple. Fans are eagerly waiting for Kaichou Wa Maid Sama Season 2.
