The Legend of Zelda is an action-adventure videogame series, launched initially by Nintendo in February 1986. The game is published by Nintendo for it’s Switch and Wii consoles. The second installment of the series was labelled as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and was released on 3rd March 2017 by Nintendo for its a switch and Wii consoles. The third instalment of the game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is rumored to be released soon.
It is one of the best open-world games available, with a realistic physics engine, high definition visuals, and breathtaking Voice acting. The second installment of the game has been hailed as one of the greatest videogames of all time. Some critics also call it as a landmark in open-world design. The game has been extremely successful, selling over 19 million copies worldwide by 2020. The game also won numerous awards including many games of the year honours.
The series features Link as the main player character and the chief protagonist of the game. He is tasked with rescuing Princess Zelda and saving the kingdom of Hyrule. Ganon, an evil warlord who turns into a demon is the main antagonist of the series. Players can explore the open world freely and collect multi-purpose items which will help them in completing the tasks and quests given to them. The game can be completed in a non linear fashion, which means their is no fixed path to the storyline.
The sequel was announced at Nintendo’s E3 2019 event. A trailer was released as well.
Apart from that, Nintendo has been tight lipped about the sequel and nothing more has been revealed. No release date has been announced as of yet. With the cancellation of Nintendo’s E3 2020, it is hard to predict anything more. Looking at the current situation, it can be deduced that the sequel will be released earliest by next year.
