Megalo Box is an anime series based on the fight against inequality and injustice and to be a part of the upper society. This is shown through not by sword fighting or any of that kind but by the sport of boxing. It is a sport based anime, a journey of a man from underground fighter to the world-known boxing champion.
THE PLOT
It is based in a city where the legal citizens are living in a wealthy area whereas illegal citizens are made to live in a slum or poor area. In this slum, a talented man named Junk Dog is an underground boxing fighter where he is paid to lose by his master Gansaku Nanbu, one day he accidentally crashes with Yuri a bodyguard of Yukiko Shirato and a fight keeps up and the bodyguard challenges Junk to compete him in Megalonia Tournament.
Megalonia Tournament is a famous boxing sport in the whole city, it is not simply boxing the boxers were metal equipment to make their punches more lethal. Judy’s master makes him a fake id as only people of the wealthy society can take part in the tournament, and from there, his journey begins to win the match and make his place in upper society. The name of the hero ‘Junk Dog’ tells us a lot about his situation and his treatment.

MEGALO BOX SEASON 2
This series was made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe a manga series written by Asao Takamori, Megalo Box was released in 2018. The season 1 ended on a positive note and now the creators are coming up with season 2 for sure, the storyline for the sequel is under development and soon it will be out. It is assumed to come out in 2020 but due to the pandemic, it can be delayed as any other series which have been affected as well. They are coming up with different plots this time which will take place 7 years later, the situation of the characters after seven years and maybe a new challenge, or a completely different story with a new cast can be expected.
