No Game, No Life is a novel series created by Yu Kamiya. Until mid-2017, around 30 lac (3 million) copies were in circulation. The novels were turned in to the manga series in 2013 by the author and his wife. No Game No Life was in the top ten selling light novel series with several of its books appearing in the top thirty selling volumes list.
THE VISUAL ADAPTATION
In 2013, Monthly Comic Alive had announced the visual anime adaptation for No Game No Life, and work for the show was already in place and things started to get on. The anime version of No Game No Life was directed by Atsuko Ishizuka and the animation was done by Madhouse. The show adaptation originally premiered on April 9, 2014, on AT-x and it was later broadcasted on several other stations and streaming networks. The show was loved by the Japanese audience and even the critics gave an above-average rating to it.

The final episode had premiered on June 25, 2014. Media Factory released the series in six DVD and Blu‑ray volumes between June and November in the same year.
The opening theme for the series was “This Game” by Konomi Suzuki and the ending theme, “Oracion” by Ai Kayano. The music composed for this was quite well acclaimed.
THE RENEWAL, SEASON 2?
After the love and amazing response received to the show, many were expecting a renewal for a further season, even the ending of the show conjectured a further explanation and storyline. However, the unfortunate truth is that there has been no official announcement what-so-ever regarding the airing of season 2. Hence, it will be accurate to say that it is better if the audience expects nothing more after the so-called “first season”.
Another fact is that the show had last aired in April 2014 and ended two months later in June. Since then the makers have drawn complete silence regarding further work for an “expected” season 2, but maybe they are quite satisfied that the original and ‘only’ season has done its job quite well. It is doubtful though if season 2 is released anytime in the future, whether the show will be a hit or not as the previous installment had been on the small screens a forgettable time ago.
