Knives Out is an American suspense murder mystery movie, released on the latter parts of last year. The movie is written, directed, and produced by Rian Johnson and boasts of a star-studded cast! With an IMDb rating of 7.9 out of 10 and Rotten Tomatoes of 97%, the movie ranks quite high in its genre.
The movie made an overall business of approximately $309.2 million worldwide. It was highly acclaimed by the critics. The movie was also nominated for many prestigious awards including the Golden Globe Awards, Satellite Awards, and Academy Awards, and won quite a few of them.
STORYLINE:
The movie is a typical murder thriller which keeps the audience guessing for what is to come next. The movie revolves around the alleged suicide of a wealthy octogenarian, Mr. Harlan Thrombey. He was a crime novelist and was found dead in his room with his throat slit. The police come to the conclusion that he had committed suicide after going through the initial evidence.
However, Benoit Blanc, a private investigator hired by an anonymous person to investigate death. On arrival, he starts questioning all the members of the household and soon figures out that all of them had a valid reason to kill the old man.
The audience watching the movie seems to know what is to come next but the movie is full of surprises with the climax surprising everyone.
WILL THERE BE A SEQUEL?
As of February 2020, the sequel was given green light by Lionsgate. In an interview in January, Rian Johnson said that he is working for the script of the sequel. He had also said that he would like to make more movies with Daniel Craig.
EXPECTED RELEASE DATE:
The production of the movie was put into fast-track in February. However, the Coronavirus Pandemic meant that the productions have to be delayed. If the filming does start by the end of this year, we expect the movie to be released in 2021.
