We all know how crazy the audience is for Game of Thrones. And there’s good news for the fans that HBO has ordered a Game of Thrones spinoff. The latest show House of the Dragon.
What is House of The Dragon and in which time period it is based? Will it have the characters of Game of Thrones?
As per our sources, The project is based on Martin’s 2019 book Fire and Blood. Therefore, it is a history of House Targaryen (the ancestors of Daenerys) as they fight through a civil war.
It is based on 300 years before the occurrences of the Game of Thrones and will be a 10 episode show.
Before the title reveals, Martin wrote on his blog: “The show stirring up all the internet headlines right now is one of the other inheritor shows. Also a prequel.
“And yes, it is based on material from one of my books,” he added, specifically referring to his novel Fire & Blood.
As per the characters, it is unlikely for them to be on the show because of the time difference.

The time frame of 300 years before Game of Thrones. This puts it exactly in the time when Aegon Targaryen first flew his dragons to Westeros and named himself king. It resulted in kicking off a war that ended with the forming of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms.
While the explicit plot details are yet to be pinned down, we do know that the Targaryen family will be beginning and center of the show throughout.

We are not sure about the airdate but it can be some time between 2022 but what we know is the 10-episode series will air in the UK – Sky Atlantic and NOW TV, the same place that aired Game of Thrones.
