Netflix has released the contracts of Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv, along with other actors in Mindhunter. Could that mean that there will be no more seasons of the incredible series?

Mindhunter Season 3 Release Date

Given the history of Mindhunters, there was a gap of two years between the release of the first season ( which got released on 13th October 2017 ) and the second season ( which got released on 16th August 2019 ). So there’s still hope that a third season might pop up in the year 2021.

What could be a possible reason for the actors’ release?

Some resources have another view on it stating that David Fincher had previously promised five seasons for the Mindhunter series, and since he is occupied with some other projects ( like Love, Death and robots and Mank), it has been taken as the prime reason for the release of the actors. ( Could that be an excuse or a cover? )

Resources say that since David is pursuing his career, so the actors were released so they could go forward with their individual characters as well.

Mindhunter Season 3 Plot

The intriguing crime thriller created by Joe Penhall, follows two officers from FBI, namely Holden Ford and Bill Tench, who try to solve cases by hitting the mental weakness or by studying their behavior, which is quite an unconventional method used given that the series is set in the late 1970s to 1980s.

As the series progresses we can see, agent Holden Ford takes the help of a peculiar serial killer Edmund Kemper who seems to enjoy Ford’s company, feels comfortable enough to share the way a criminal thinks, giving adequate insights to the officers about what is going on inside a criminals head ( their counterparts).

As Bill Tench rightly said, if we don’t get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks!

So all the crazy fans can definitely expect that the incredible series gets a sequel!

Till then enjoy the soundtrack from the second season here:
