Jamie Spears’ lawyer has attacked him for asking to be covered by his daughter after being suspended from her life. He’s described as “shameful” and the reason why Britney lost control of themselves is that he pushed them too far, one step at a time.
When Mr. Rosengart spoke about Jamie’s demand in a statement provided to The Hollywood Reporter, he said that it was shameful and akin too much for an artist who only reaped millions from Britney as their conservator while paying lawyers billions more.
He added, “The conservatorship has been terminated and Mr. Spears was suspended ignominiously. Under the circumstances, his petition is not only legally meritless, but it is also an abomination. Britney poignantly testified about the pain her father caused her and this only adds to it. This is not what a father who loves his daughter does.”
In court documents filed on December 15 and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. Spears petitioned the Court to cover his legal representation for proceedings concerning an ongoing fiduciary duty relating to winding up of singer’s conservatorship.
“Prompt payment on account of Jamie’s attorneys’ fees is necessary to ensure the Conservatorship can be wound up quickly and efficiently to allow Britney to take control of her life as she and Jamie desire,” the petition stated.
The singer was able to afford to pay both her own and the father’s legal fees, any time they went up against court proceedings regarding their conservatorship agreement.
As part of the terms for a conservatorship, any time she took him to court over these legal arrangements he was required to pay both their own and his father’s fees.
This year, Britney Spears ended her court-mandated conservatorship and was finally able to live life on her terms. Her termination came with many restrictions lifted from the singer’s assistants as well as a new friend ben caring for them in case anything should happen again, but most importantly she is now free!
In September, Mr. Spears filed to end his court-ordered conservatorship before being suspended from the position. This year saw Britney’s termination of an LA judge who had taken over for them after they left their posts in October without notifying anyone – including lawyers representing her children or family members she left behind when moving out years ago (to pursue fame).
After the filings argued that “the fiduciary obligations Jamie owed did not end with his suspension or order terminating Conservatorship,” they went on to say he would be subjected to personal bankruptcy and ruin if he didn’t cover legal representation.
“No person would ever want to step into the role as conservator if a conservatee could force a conservator to personally pay substantial legal fees defending unfounded allegations,” the petition stated.
“Jamie should not be required to sacrifice his wellbeing defending his administration of the Estate where each of his actions has thus far been made with the council and approval of others in these proceedings including the Court,” the filing continued.
Britney Spears has been fighting to get away from the conservatorship that she grew tired of, and now it appears as if her wishes will finally come true. The petition follows requests made by Grammy-winning singer over a decade ago which reached their public height in last year’s time period; however, these have only recently gained traction following an ABC special on national TV discussing how much freedom celebrities like Britney should be given while still under guardianship
