Dwayne Johnson DENY Vin Diesel’s Invitation For Fast & Furious: ‘No Chance I Will Return’

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has publicly declined Vin Diesel’s request to rejoin the action franchise for its upcoming 10th installment.

It’s been a long wait, but the next installment in this action-packed series is finally here. Diesel invited Johnson to reprise his role as secret agent Lucas Hobbs for one last mission and he couldn’t resist!

“The world awaits the finale of ‘Fast 10,’” Diesel wrote. “As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10!”

Johnson has responded to Diesel’s request, criticizing him for voicing an invite on social media after they had already reached a private agreement.

“I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return,” Johnson explained. “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”

Johnson expressed his good wishes for the “Fast & Furious” family ahead of their next, and myriad final outing.

“My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible franchise with gratitude and grace,” Johnson said. “It’s unfortunate that this public dialogue has muddied the waters. Regardless, I’m confident in the ‘Fast’ universe and its ability to consistently deliver for the audience… I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter.”

Johnson has been a part of one the most successful film franchises in history, having starred as Agent Hobbs for all five films. He first appeared onscreen alongside Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto in 2011’s Fast Five and became an antagonist to his character later but eventually joined up with them after joining DMC or Dom Romania Civil War Crew where they are seen fighting against their enemies from opposing sides; Johnson left this series following 2017 release The Fate Of Furious teaming back up again with Jason Statham who plays US agent Brian Shaw

Diesel’s “Fast & Furious” saga continues with the release of F9: The Fast Saga, one of few successes during this past summer. Grossing $173 million domestically and a whopping $721 worldwide – just weeks ago it became 2019’s highest-grossing film! Diesel will return to star while regular series cast members Tyrese Gibson (in his final acting role), Sung Kang Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges Jordana Brewster Michelle Rodriguez are all expected back for more action as they buckle up once again; director Justin Lin is coming along too so pack your popcorn because nothing beats an adrenaline rush like being carsick in HD Cinema seats only at Cinemark theatres near you starting April 7th, 2023
