Lucifer is an American urban fantasy series which first featured in Fox on 25th January 2016. The Series is based on the DC comics’ character from the book series, The Sandman. The Series is now a Netflix exclusive. Lucifer has an Imdb rating of 8.2 out of 10 and a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 87%.
The first season of the Series was quite criticised by critics. Ratings were quite low for the first season. The ratings increased from the next sessions onwards. Fox did not want to renew the series beyond third season. Netflix stepped in and renewed it.

STORYLINE:
The story of the Series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar, a Devil, who has abandoned hell for los Angeles. He runs a nightclub named Lux here and works as a consultant to the LAPD. The entire story revolves around his life and how he helps the police department.
EXPECTED CAST:
Almost all the original cast members of the Series are set to return, including Tom Ellis as Lucifer, Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen and Rachael Harris as Dr Linda Martin to name a few.

It is rumoured that Lucifer will return to hell for some time in this season. It is also confirmed that he will spend some time with God. Dennis Haysbert has been roped in to play the role of God.
Lucifer had decided to return to hell in the last season’s finale. So, we can expect some part of this season to be based in hell. The poster of the fifth season has Lucifer embracing Chloe. Rumors have it that it could be Lucifer’s brother Michael talking his place while he is away in hell.
RELEASE DATE:
The fifth season of the series is supposed to be released in two parts. The first part is supposed to be released on 21st August this year. The other part maybe released next year.
It has also been confirmed that the series will be renewed for a “FINAL Final” sixth season.
