Vera Lynn, the British singer whose songs equipped hope for Allied troops throughout World Battle II, died Thursday at 103.

“The household are deeply saddened to insist the passing of regarded as one of Britain’s top-cherished entertainers at the age of 103,” the singer’s household mentioned in an announcement. “Dame Vera Lynn, who lived in Ditchling, East Sussex, handed away earlier this present day, 18 June 2020, surrounded by her close household.”

Lynn become once most known for her songs “The White Cliffs of Dover” and “We’ll Meet All over again,” the latter serving because the melody in the ending montage of Stanley Kubrick’s eminent film, “Dr. Strangelove.”
