NSU Broken Arrow Offers Free Summer Science Camps for Teens
Free STEM summer camps at NSU-Broken Arrow are open to Oklahoma students in grades 8โ10. By Hannah Sedgwick – Northeastern State Universityโs Broken Arrow campus is opening its doors to young science enthusiasts this summer with two free weeklong camps focused on biology and environmental science. Designed for students in grades 8 through 10, these camps offer immersive, project-based learning experiences in STEM fields โ and theyโre completely free of charge.
Get hands-on with science this summer The first camp, โGet Green for Blue: Outdoor STEM Investigations Connecting Water to You,โ runs June 2 through 6. Students will explore water systems and environmental science topics through engaging outdoor activities and experiments. The second session, โCamp Biomed: A Glowing Overview,โ runs June 23 through 27 and focuses on biology and biomedical science. Campers will participate in interactive lab-style projects while learning scientific methods. Both camps are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lunch and snacks are provided at no cost.
Building skills through fun, focused learning NSU officials say the goal of the free camps is to spark interest in STEM fields while building real-world skills. โThese programs give students a chance to experience science beyond the classroom โ through experiments, teamwork, and fieldwork,โ said organizers in a statement. โItโs an opportunity to connect curiosity with career pathways.โ Each camp combines academic learning with hands-on activities designed to keep students engaged and inspired.

Csi Junior Forensic Camp Calling all young detectives! Are you ready to solve mysteries like a real crime scene investigator? The CSI Junior Forensic Camp is an exciting, hands-on program designed for curious kids who love science, problem-solving, and uncovering secrets. Campers will join a team of junior investigators to learn the basics of forensic science and crime scene analysis through fun, age-appropriate activities, including: collecting and analyzing fingerprints, examining trace evidence like hair and fibers and conducting DNA genetic analysis and investigating “mystery powders” using chemistry. Investigators will reconstruct crime scenes and solve mock cases using the skills they have learned!
