The CBS television sitcom Ghosts was developed by Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond. It is an American adaptation of the British series of the same name. On October 7, 2021, it made its debut. A complete season of the show was ordered in October 2021. The show was given a second season renewal in January 2022, and the new season is scheduled to begin on September 29, 2022.
Why did CBS pick up Ghosts for a second season?
According to Deadline, Ghosts is a quirky, single-camera adult comedy that is unlike anything else on CBS and is based on the U.K. formula. But it defied expectations, producing the biggest comedy premiere this season and displaying the traditional characteristics of a broadcast comedy hit that we hadn’t seen in a while. Its viewership also increased steadily throughout the season as more people learned about it.
Season 2 premiere date for Ghosts
After more than two months of anticipation, the network has officially announced that Thursday, September 29, 2022, will mark the debut of Ghosts Season 2. (9:00-9:30 PM).
What happens in Season 2 of Ghosts?
The first season of the show is quite simple. The incorporeal residents of an old house don’t want a bunch of bothersome live people coming and leaving and (albeit mistakenly) hurting them by drifting through their ephemeral presence, so they oppose the young, cute couple’s plans to convert it into a hugely profitable bed and breakfast. They make every effort to get rid of the live visitors, but once everyone understands that Sam (Rose McIver), who had a near-death experience, can see and speak with the ghosts, they stop arguing and try to work things out together.
In terms of the main plot, a recently released teaser trailer (more on that in a moment) indicates that fans can anticipate more of what they have already seen. The significant cliffhanger over whether Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) fall has given him the power to see ghosts now, too, is also addressed in this episode. It’s difficult to foresee where this might lead the show.
On the one hand, it wouldn’t be the most shocking thing a comedy program has ever done to build up the anticipation and then rapidly deflate it at the start of Season 2. However, if they choose to change it so that Jay now perceives the ghosts, that opens up a whole new narrative space for the authors to experiment with (and viewers to enjoy).
Who will appear in Season 2 of Ghosts?
As we already indicated, the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. We would anticipate hearing about significant cast changes if there were any significant scandals or if the show’s ratings were trending lower. There is a very good probability that you may encounter a certain individual again when Season 2 premieres if you missed their ascent to the afterlife in Season 1. This includes recurring characters such as Sasappis, Alberta, Pete, Richie Moriarty, Trevor, Flower, Sheila Carrasco, Thorfinn, Devan Chandler Long, and Brandon Scott Jones from the series (Roman Zaragoza).
Although we anticipate seeing everyone again, fans will also get to glimpse a brand-new face (who may also look familiar at the same time). A recent Instagram photo of renowned “Gilmore Girls” alum Rose Abdoo snapping a selfie with McIver caught TV Line’s attention. The post’s description exclaimed how much fun it was to film sequences with them in Canada and how eager she was to watch the upcoming season of the show. You’ll therefore have an even stronger incentive to watch new episodes of “Ghosts” if you enjoy both programs.
Is there a season 2 trailer for Ghosts?
A Ghosts season 2 teaser has been made available by CBS. It includes some of the highlights from season one as well as the first glimpse of the brand-new episodes, which will premiere in the fall of 2022. These moments include Jay hoping he can see ghosts after banging his head and the B&B getting ready for their (second) first guests.
