The American television series Pennyworth, based on the same-named Batman character from DC Comics, made its debut on Epix on July 28, 2019. Along with Ben Aldridge, Emma Paetz, Ryan Fletcher, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Paloma Faith, Polly Walker, James Purefoy, and Jason Flemyng, the series stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, a younger version of the character previously portrayed by Sean Pertwee in the Fox series Gotham (2014-2019).
Filming for the second season of the show commenced in January 2020; however, the COVID-19 epidemic forced a delay in production in March. The start of the second season was on December 13, 2020. The third season of the show began airing on HBO Max in October 2021. The release date for the third season, titled The Origin of Batman’s Butler, is set for October 6, 2022.
When is Pennyworth supposed to happen?
Season 1 was set in London in the 1960s. Season 2, which occurs around a year after the events of season 1, finds Alfred Pennyworth as the owner of a club as rumors of civil war spread throughout the UK.
What will Season 3 of Pennyworth bring?
Five years have passed since the events of season two, and the globe has undergone a positive or negative cultural transformation, ushering in a new era of superheroes and supervillains.
Will Pennyworth return for a third season?
Yes! Pennyworth will have at least one more season, according to a statement made during DC Fandom, DC Comics’ online convention.
Spotted Release Date For Season 3 Of Pennyworth
In October 2022, Pennyworth season 3 will be available.
The actors who play Alfred and Thomas announced the third season at DC Fandom, a virtual convention devoted to all things DC Comics.
“We’ve had such a great time making Pennyworth over the past two seasons, and we just wanted to thank you all so much for your support,” they stated.
Jack Bannon continues, “As you can see, we’re on set, and we are officially in production for season 3 of Pennyworth, which is now a Max Original series on HBO Max,” cutting to photos of the Pennyworth set.
Ben Aldridge, who plays Thomas Wayne, stated that seasons 1 and 2 would be available on HBO Max in 2022, while season 3 would debut later that year. So, while a 2022 release date is undoubtedly in the cards, we’ll keep you informed as more details become available.
In Season 3, what will happen to Pennyworth and his pals?
The heartbreaking death of Alfred’s close buddy Bazza in “Pennyworth” Season 2 forces him and Daveboy to make a joint trip to America. Aziz is also named Prime Minister, and the Raven Union starts creating Stormcloud, a deadly chemical they intend to employ as a weapon. Another well-known figure from DC’s “Batman” comics is also introduced during this season: Lucius Fox.
The season ends with a variety of unexpected twists and surprising incidents. First, Martha Kane and Thomas Wayne start dating. Detective Inspector Aziz then marries them. While Pennyworth, Daveboy, and several other characters from the show can effectively thwart the Raven Union’s deadly scheme, Lord Harwood also falls prey to the other cunning, power-hungry members of the Raven Union. Martha gives birth to a daughter, breaking every single piece of established “Batman” canon.
Even though the third season of “Pennyworth” won’t officially have a plot until 2021, it was confirmed at the DC Fandom event that the third season will start five years after the events of the second. The upcoming season would also reportedly “dig in deeper” into the lives of several characters from the show, including Martha, Thomas, Alfred, Bet Sykes, and Lucius Fox, as well as reveal more about “their influence in the formation of the ‘Batman’ canon.”
The Cast of Pennyworth, Season 3
As the titular Alfred Pennyworth, Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game, Endeavour) will return. Ben Aldridge (Fleabag, The Long Call) and Emma Paetz do excellent work as the Waynes (Gentleman Jack). Jonjo O’Neill (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Queen’s Gambit) plays Aleister Crowley, and it’s obvious that he adores the job. Jessica Ellerby (Lovesick, Endeavour) plays the Queen. Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and Simon Day (The Fast Show, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) are both seasoned character performers who enjoy playing English aristocrats and Cockney geezers, respectively. And Simon Manyonda (Doctor Who, His Dark Materials) plays Lucius Fox with vigor.
