K-dramas are the top trending thing nowadays. The most of credit goes to shows like Squid Game and Crash Landing on You, which were hit globally in the pandemic and started attracting people to K-drama. One series that had an impact on viewers’ minds was Korean Odyssey.
A Korean fantasy television series A Korean Odyssey, in Korean known as Hwayugi. This series is kind of a spin-off of the Chinese classic novel Journey to the West, written by the Hong sisters. The show premiered on tvN on December 23, 2017. The show would play on tvN on weekends. Now that it’s already been 5 years since the premiere of the show, fans are demanding a season 2 desperately. Lee Seung-gi, Cha Seung-won, Oh Yeon-Seo, Lee Hong-gi, and Jang Gwang feature in the show.
Is season 2 coming?
A Korean Odyssey was a good season with lots of positive
reviews from fans and critics. The show’s plot and the climax had viewers hooked to the show until the last episode, there are no surprises that this show became one of the most loved shows in Korea. The reviews for season 1 are great, so fans believed that season 2 will come out quickly, much to our disappointment, it didn’t. Fans prayed for a season 2, but it doesn’t seem very likely, because season 1 had an affirmatively good ending, not a cliff-hanger, so there is not a chance for a genuine sequence for the original story of season 1. But taking into consideration the popularity of the show, there might be a spinoff series of the show, but nothing is sure for now.
The show’s storyline goes as a narrative of Seon-mi, a young woman, who is capable of seeing ghosts. It proved to be a curse for her, as she is constantly aware of the ghosts around her, which as 
I think of it is pretty weird, as we guess it, she doesn’t have a good life. All of her friends and family members have announced her as mental, on the other hand, her grandma gives her an umbrella that prevents ghosts due to some protective spells. After some time, Seon-mi becomes CEO of a real estate agency that trades haunted houses, and the story goes on.
While giving a review a fan said,” Marvelous series, I loved it. I will recommend it if you are just starting with K-drama, the chemistry between Son Oh Gong and Sam Jang is amazing and strong. If we talk about the story, it is unique in its ways, and very well directed. The story is a mix of emotions like laughter, tension, excitement, and everything.”
Overall a nice series, low expectations for season 2, but still hopes and prayers,
