The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: Will the series be cancelled or renewed

The Summer I Turned Pretty concludes with Belly selecting her future partner. Fans are naturally curious about the longevity of their relationship. Here is everything we know about The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 so far, including the release date, cast, trailers, narrative details, spoilers, and upcoming news. Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty do not need to be concerned about the continuation of the adolescent drama. The Summer I Turned Pretty was granted the go-light for a second season by Amazon Prime Video weeks before the premiere of the first season. Similar to the first season, Jenny Han will remain as the series showrunner and writer.

Given that there are three The Summer I Turned Pretty novels and the first season only covers the first, it seems probable that a third season will also be produced. Season 2 production started in July 2022 and will likely continue for the foreseeable future.
Prime Video has not yet announced when the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty will be available. With production well begun, we anticipate that it won’t be long until it’s out. Fans anticipate that Prime Video will seek to broadcast season 2 in the summer, so a June/July 2023 release date is plausible. Prime Video has not yet disclosed how many episodes they have purchased for season 2, although it seems likely that there will be seven new episodes in total, the same as season 1.

Prime Video has not yet announced which characters will return for The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2, but based on the novels, fans predict that almost all of the important characters will return. In other words, anticipate the return of Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Cornad), Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah), Sean Kaufman (Steven), and Minnie Mills (Shayla). Meanwhile, everyone’s favorite mothers, Jackie Chung (Laurel) and Rachel Blanchard (Susannah), as well as their past and current romantic interests, Alfredo Narciso (Cleveland), Colin Ferguson (John), and Tom Everett Scott (Adam), should have more stories in season 2.

Regarding recurring characters, it is presently unknown if Summer Madison (Nicole), Rain Spencer (Taylor), or David Ianco (Cam) will return for season 2. Cam does not appear in any of the subsequent volumes, although anything is conceivable. Additionally, some new characters may probably be added. Season 1 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is a very faithful adaptation of the whole first novel, therefore we anticipate that season 2 will be based on the second book, It’s Not Summer Without You. If so, then regrettably Susannah dies tragically in the second book, causing Conrad to withdraw from Belly and demand that she be with Jeremiah rather than him.

There is nonetheless some hope for Susannah. In the novels, Susannah categorically rejects therapy. After season 1, Conrad and Jeremiah encourage Susannah to get therapy. Considering this, it is probable that Sussanah may survive her therapy during season 2. We just doubt Jenny would alter such a substantial portion of the work.

The book summary for Its Not Summer Without You reads: “Belly used to count down the days until summer when she would return to Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. However, not this year Not until Susannah became ill again and Conrad ceased to care. Everything nice and perfect has crumbled, leaving Belly hoping summer will never arrive.”

It continues: “But when Jeremiah informs her that Conrad has vanished, Belly understands what she must do to restore order. And it can only occur at the beach home, with the three of them, in their former state. If this summer is the last, it should conclude at Cousins Beach, where it began.”

In other words, Belly and Jeremiah’s prospective relationship is far from done, and if season 2 stays true to the source material, there will be a great deal of sadness and sorrow in season 2.
