Sources confirmed that the next season will be aired around February in year 2022, with James Gunn releasing an announcement to mark the declaration.

“That’s why it’s being declared now, because we had to sort everything out. I didn’t agree to a new season season , it wasn’t a matter of like, okay, we’re picked up. It’s a matter of I just wanted to make sure it was really something I wanted to do.”
It’s good news for the fans that John and James found their way into the new season because it literally wouldn’t work without any one of them.
For the rest of the cast, Freddie Stroma will surely be back as Vigilante, along with main actors Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, and Jennifer Holland.
There’s a slight hope Robert Patrick will be also returning (yes, we know he’s already dead but he was still troubling Christopher Smith from the grave in eighth episode and we’d hope that to continue in season 2: James Gunn loves messed-up father/son relationships).
