Twitter has permanently suspended the account of anti-vaxx activist group Greene for repeated violations. “We’ve been clear that per our strike system for this policy – we will suspend accounts that are caught violating COVID 19 again and again,” said a Twitter spokesperson in an interview with The Verge.
Twitter began a new system in March 2021 that would put locks on users’ accounts and permanently suspend them if they posted misinformation about COVID-19. The more strikes you accumulate, the longer your suspension lasts! Twitter said this was Greene’s final strike so he had better watch out for what he posts from now on or else it could be curtains for him very soon.

Greene responded to the situation in a post on Telegram and Facebook. “Twitter is an enemy of America, but can’t handle the truth!” Greene states; she also claims that she has been suspended for tweeting data from Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which stores information about potential adverse reactions – including COVID-19 vaccines.
Greene has been suspended from Twitter for violating the platform’s policies on civic integrity and misleading users about COVID-19.
In addition, her account was temporarily banned after she posted a link that seemed suspicious in nature; it turned out this information related to an incident last year when someone tried spreading malware through fake Chrome updates—a practice called “scareware.” However, these suspensions don’t seem nearly as bad compared with what could have happened if we hadn’t recognized them early enough!
